About the Project
The Friends of Horsham Museum successfully bid in August 2011 for funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for the Albery Poster Project. The Project aimed to stimulate interest in the local history of Horsham through the outstanding William Albery Poster Collection - over 1400 posters the majority of which were donated to the Museum by local man, William Albery.
The collection spans over 200 years of the history of Horsham District, West Sussex, UK. This website includes an image of every poster in the collection, a full description of the text and in many cases additional research on the story behind them drawn from the West Sussex County Times and other resources.
The website is just one part of the project which has successfully preserved, recorded, researched and used the poster collection, in community engagement and education. To find out more check out our Project Outcomes.
