Order as to Lights in West Sussex.
Under the Defence of the Realm (Consolidation) Regualtions, 1914.
By virtue of the power conferred on me under Regulation 12 of the Defence of the Realm (Consolidation) Regulations, 1914.
I, Lieut General Honble Sir F W Stopford, KCMG, KCVO, GB, Commanding Second Army, Central Force, being a Competent Military Authority under the said regulations, do hereby direct that with reference to my order Q889 of 26th Inst, a) the order for the Extinction of Lights will, until further Orders, be limited to a belt of country extending along the coastline and 15 miles inland from the mouth of the River Swale on the North Coast of Kent to the River Arun in Sussex, and b) over Surrey and the remainder of Kent and Sussex light showing skywards are to remain darkened as far as possible.
Given under my hand the 27th day of January 1915.
