To the Gentry and Inhabitants of the Parish of Horsham
Having been informed that a Public Vestry is appointed to be held on Thursday 2nd May next for the purpose of electing a Vestry Clerk for the ensuing year, and having for many years past, (I hope to your satisfaction) filled the Office of Parish Clerk, I venture to offer myself to your notice as a candidate for the office of Vestry Clerk also, and earnestly solicit the favour of your patronage and support. Should I be fortunate enough to be elected, you may rely on my best efforts to perform the duties of the Office, with the greatest assiduity, impartiality and attention, and I pledge myself that nothing on my part shall be wanting to give general satisfaction.
I have the honour to be, Gentlemen, Your most obedient and humble servant,
R Collins
