Urban District of Horsham - The French Relief Fund
Notice that the Urban District Council will make an appeal on 14th July 1915 (Bastille Day - a national holiday in France) to raise funds “for the assistance of French victims of the War caused by the inhuman conduct of the Germans towards the suffering and homeless women and children in the devastated Provinces of France”.

The collection is being organised on similar lines as the Prince of Wales’ Fund, by the sale of Flags, Flowers and Badges in the streets of the town.

A duly authorised representative will call on each resident and it is hoped that a donation will be given or a purchase made of the items offered for sale.

Signed by Charles Rowland (Chairman of the Council)
